Canvus: a new life for wind turbine blades.
Director of photography work for Business Insider’s World Wide Waste, following an Ohio company transforming discarded turbine blades into benches and planters.
The story
What happens to a wind turbine blade when it is no longer in use? This World Wide Waste episode explores the waste problem and introduces Canvus, an Ohio company finding another purpose for the material.
The film follows the transformation from discarded blades into useful objects, including benches and planters. It gives viewers a concrete example of reuse within a larger environmental story.
My role

A useful reference for your production
The published film offers a look at a process-based environmental story: an unusual material, the people working with it and the objects it becomes. For documentary producers, it is a reference for my cinematography on an editorial assignment.
For organizations with a story about manufacturing, reuse or community impact, it can also help start a conversation about how to make a complex subject tangible. Your film’s approach should be shaped around your own audience, access and purpose.
